I had seen the film of this story before I read this book. It had very wonderful musics. I think this book almost expresses the film faithfully.
A girl had a very strong London accent was taught good English by Higgins. And she became a lady. It looks like a Cinderella story, but this story is a romance.
If you don't know the story of My Fair Lady, I suggest to you that you read this book. ( )

I was surprised at a London accent. I thoght British English is a standard of all kinds of English. But actually, in U.K.,many accents exist. I didn't know it until I've read hte book. Of course, Japan also has many kinds of accents. But I think these are one of characteristics of region cultures, so I don't think accents is dirty. But some people say a Mikawa accent is dirty. I don't know a real situation about a London accent. so I can't comment so much. But, anyway, Higgins loves Eliza, and I think it's happy ending. ( )

This story is about a poor young girl and a professor who doesn't like women. The professor decides to teach the girl to speak better English. He wants to change her from street girl to lady. After she learned she became a famous lady. Then she loved the professor but he remembered she was a street girl and poor. So he said I don't love you. I recommend this book to people who like to read Romance story
