I enjoyed this chapter book for many reasons including the plot, the characters, and the language style. Muffy receives a note from a "secret admirer". All week at school, Muffy and her friends try to think of who it could be. Muffy believes its an older fifth grader, but Sue Ellen believes it could of been from a smart kindergartner. Turns out her "secret admirer" was really a joke from her friends Francine and the Brain because they were upset that Muffy won the science fair and they didn't. I liked the plot of this story because it was like we were all working together to crack a code while reading. The characters in this story were very well developed and relatable. Each character has their own unique personalities that you can see yourself in. There is the class clown, the sports fan, the tough guy, the smart one, the poet, the quiet one, the diva, and many more. The language in this story was very descriptive, we could definitely visualize how excited Muffy was to receive the note. "She pictured herself having a picnic with her dream guy in the back of their matching Rolls Royces or going down to the bank to count each others money." I believe the big idea/message of the story is about friendship and competition because Francine and the Brain would rather risk their friendship over not winning the science fair that Muffy did. At the end of the story they learned a valuable lesson. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
