This is the conclusion to this series, which is mainly about Astrid Bjorklund. This story will take you to the Red Bud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, where Astrid, with the help of her father and friends from Blessing, try to save the tribe from the horrible measles epidemic that is killing off the tribe. Upon returning to Blessing, Astrid must break off a relationship with a young man who doesn't see eye to eye with her being a doctor. She will wonder it love and a family is out of reach as she pursues God's calling of her being a doctor. The town of Blessing is quickly growing and a new hosptial is being built. A lot of exciting things happening, and the ending left me very satisfied and ready to read the next series in this Blessing saga. ( )

NCLA Review -Blessing, North Dakota was a growing town in 1904. Astrid Bjorkland, her mother, Ingeborg and sister-in-law, Elizabeth were all doctors trying to get a teaching hospital built. Joshua Landsverk thought Astrid was the woman of his dreams until she told him her first priority was her work as a doctor. He couldn't understand why she chose to go to help a tribe of Indians rather than stay with him. While Joshua hopes to repair their broken relationship when she returns, Astrid is intrigued with another man who doesn't seem to be bothered by her being a doctor. At the same time she worries about the hospital being done on time. A well-done book, but best understood after reading the first two books in the series. Rating: 3 —NP ( )
