I liked the characters, but as other reviewers have mentioned, the title is a bit confusing, as was the oddly inserted flashback chapter at the end.

Still, a fun read, very enjoyable hints at magical stuff (would have loved more!), and perfect for summer relaxation reading. ( )

I like this book but I just like Sarah Addison Allen. Her stories make me feel comfy and cozy and then they make me want to bake. I know some will argue that it's predictable and maybe it is or that it's too girly and maybe it is but I don't care. So is a box of popcorn and a girls night out. That's what this book was, a good girl's night out.
As I was reading it I often pictured it as a movie. Think Fried Green Tomatoes with a bit of love thrown in and you're in the ballpark of this book. ( )

I loved this book. I felt "The Peach Keeper" was a throwback to "The Sugar Queen" with less of the angst and more of the understanding from Sarah Addison Allen's first two novels. I enjoyed the character development, the rightness of their bettered relationships, and the promising lives that awaited each and every one of them. And of course, the sprinkles of magical realism that always keep me coming back for more- ( )

Friendship. What does true friendship mean? That your best friend will always be there for you and you will be there for her as well. That's the premise of this story how a 75th anniversary of a Women's club brings the past into the future in unexpected ways. Recommended. ( )

The day Paxton Osgood took the box of heavy-stock, foil-lined envelopes to the post office, the ones she'd had a professional calligrapher address, it began to rain so hard the air turned as white as bleached cotton.
