Not sure if this is a board book or not, but it feels like a board book. It shows what pumpkins can and do become on Halloween. This book is a bit darker, which is noticeable from the cover. Not anything meant to scare, but it appeals to the horror loving parents and isn’t all cute and chibi style. It’s dark, decadently so. Summary: A book about Pumpkins and all the faces they create with our inagination.Goes through the book and shows pumpkins used for all different things. Shows Jack o lantern faces and scare crows using pumpkins for heads.Talks about the season being Fall. Personal reaction: I liked this book for the pictures and the lesson on the seasons that could be taught by it. Creativness, being displayed throught he different pictures in the book, along with the difference in sizes of the pumpkins. Extension: #1.Ask students to each tell what they think when they see a pumpkin? ...Halloween will then be discussed along with the different uses other than Halloweeen such as pies etc. #2. Hand out work sheet where the student colors his on pumpkin head and uses his own creativity. Pumpkin Heads is about the different kinds of pumpkin carvings seen during Halloween. I automatically liked this book because it is about Halloween. My favorite part about the book, though, was the pictures. They were very detailed and pretty. This is the perfect book to read to children during Halloween because it's not scary. It just has a lot of pictures with different "pumpkin heads." I would read this to the students as a treat for Halloween. I would also have them draw their own pumpkin head. Another good idea would be to make a real pumpkin carving as a class. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

I love Halloween, so of course I pick up a Halloween/Pumpkin filled picture book! At this point, I embrace the fun at my age. Why not have a little fun and dip back into the joys of childhood? Pictures books are also great to share around! So many young readers... so many options...
My notes about this book:
1. The cover is creepy... in the best spooky way! Although, some little kids might actually be creeped out and stay away.
2. The illustrations are marvellous! They really stand out. Super lifelike!
3. The story is sweet, simple and fun.
4. This is a great book to bring into the classroom or get your young ones pumped for Halloween!
Three out of five stars.
