Bluestem Bistro - Manhattan, KS

This is a wonderful place to sit and read books. There is a very nice courtyard that is back away from the street that is relatively quiet. In addition to coffee and smoothies, fresh backed goods are for sale. Bread is baked daily as are scones and muffins. Sandwiches are also offered. Baked goods are mixed and baked in the store. This is not frozen dough shipped in from somewhere else. The last day I was there the barrista was asking for ideas for scones for the fall season. Butterscotch chip with pecans sounded particularly good.
