Description :
The Rabbi Emanuel and Sylvia Bennett Memorial Library of Anshe Emet Synagogue was named for the late Rabbi Emanuel and Sylvia Bennett, who supported the Library and were very active readers and members of the congregation. From the 1930's until 2006 the Library was named the Eugene Kohn Memorial Library.

The Library has been recognized by the United Synagogue of America with the Solomon Schechter award. The Library is a member of the Judaica Library Network of Metropolitan Chicago and the Chicago Library System. The collection contains more than 5000 items including current and research level Judaica and Hebraica books, periodicals, video and audio recordings. Strong collections include Bible, Jerusalem, Israel, Talmud, rabbinics, Jewish philosophy, Jewish history, and Jewish customs. Special collections include books by member of the Anshe Emet family.

The Library's online public access catalog (OPAC) is available in the Library and online via the Internet. Books are classified by the Library of Congress Classification system.

The Bennett Library is open during regular synagogue business hours and on Sunday mornings from 9:15-11:00 am. The librarian may be consulted in person on Thursdays from 1 – 5 pm. The Library is closed on the Sabbath, Jewish holidays, and legal holidays.
