- Description :
- Union Station #112, A small Barnes & Noble (formerly B. Dalton) in Washington D.C.'s central train station. From the AMTRAK/Commuter train platforms, turn right and walk straight forward and you'll find the store.
A bit cramped and the selection's not amazing, but it's bright and well-tailored for its location: lots of light material to read on the train, lots of politics and special events, a good kids' selection and plenty of periodicals. And nobody cares if you're carrying your luggage with you.
There's a variety of other shops and restaurants in Union Station as well.

Hi Fellow Washingtonians,
I was just made aware that the Barnes and Noble in Washington, DC in Union Station is closing at the end of the year. Has the world gone mad!!! And apparently it's not the bookstore but Union Station itself that is asking Barnes and Noble to leave. Is there anything we can do? I was informed while calling to pre-order a book, they are hoping to change Union Stations mind and we need all booklovers to convince Union Station that Barnes and Noble needs to stay!

After a deal to extend its lease by one year fell through, the Barnes & Noble bookstore that anchors the western end of Union Station will be closing at the end of February, the company tells DCist.
Barnes & Noble was negotiating with Ashkenazy Acquisition Corp., a New York-based developer that manages Union Station's retail space, to stay in its space for an additional year.
