- South Downs Poetry Festival, SDPF, is a brand new annual festival which – uniquely – spans many miles; the length and breadth of the beautiful South Downs National Park; moving broadly, in time, from east to west. 2016 is SDPF's inaugural proof of concept year which we're monitoring and evaluating in great detail.
Over these 9 days in July we're holding events in Alfriston, Ditchling, Firle and Lewes – in East Sussex; in Midhurst and Singleton – in West Sussex; and in Petersfield, Queen Elizabeth Country Park and Steep – in Hampshire. There's also a 4 day Poetry Bike Tour, starting in Eastbourne, giving free poetry performances – sometimes in unusual places – in all 3 counties of the South Downs National Park countryside. The final weekend centres in and around the market town of Petersfield.
