- Havant's seventh annual Literary Festival.
From the programme:
This year we start on a Friday and extend over the first two weekends of October. The first two days (3rd and 4th October) have a poetry bias, including the much admired comic, folklorist and writer Mike Harding. Performance poetry and theatre is taken to new levels of excess by Rhymes with Orange, whose perambulation around the town takes in two pubs and ends in the Havant Brewery. The second Saturday (11th October) concentrates on prose writers, with visits from Will Self and Stella Duffy. The final Sunday sees a major conference session on the interplay between ecology and literature before finishing with a burst of the bard as we welcome Shakespearean actor turned writer David Weston.
