More series questions.

Do you just p/e a series and add the same tags to each book, or do you feel a more specific tags can help identify the difference between the books?

I don't mean sort codes, but actual book based tags.

I'd like to differentiate, but most book in most series' seem to suggest the same tags to me. Anybody got any inspiration for me?

A lot of my short series/trilogies tags end up being a cut&paste but it's easier to find tag subsets in longer series.

Eg, in Discworld, I've added character tags like Granny Weatherwax, Vimes etc to bring up the sub-series focusing on those characters.
With my golden age mysteries, and child lit fiction, I've added the decade/era it's set in (1920s, early century, 1950's etc).

Or physical book characteristics, (1st ed, hardcover, cover artist) or items of interest like 'book award', or 'made into movie', which adds variables in.

And every so often I've looked at my book-wall and lightbulbed a common element which links disparate books or authors together. That's where my AI with persona tag came from.

There might be some ideas to suit in there.....

A little of both, for me. For example, I have the first seven books of the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher; all of them are tagged "dresden files, urban fantasy, humor, wizards" but I sometimes add book-specific tags as well; book 7 is tagged "zombies" because that book has zombies in it, whereas the others don't. And if one book of a series is angstier than the others, it will get the tag "angsty."

Yeah, I do the same: tag the whole series with the name of the series and any relevant tags that apply to the whole thing, then add individual ones for things that show up only in particular books.
