I'm doing Classical Armenian, Deenanl, but very briefly did an Eastern Armenian class in London (all the materials were the teacher's own). What materials are you using for your Eastern Armenian?

My boyfriend speaks Eastern Armenian and will help me if I ask, I also have an online friend from Yerevan that spends an hour with me about 4 days a week to learn new words and correct my pronunciation. I have 3 books in my library, an armenian dictionary, a transliteration phrasebook and a Beginners Armenian book. I have 2 pdf books, one is like a kindergarten or 1st grade word book and the other is a fairytale book (more advanced and cant read it yet), I can give u the link to down load these and a few more if u want. There is a library with many armenian books a few towns away I need to go back to return some books. My level is that I know my alphabet and some words and how to say a few phrases. Im trying to learn so I can maybe live in Armenia in a few years and next I will learn Russian.

Is your Beginner's Armenian by Hagop Andonian a book on Eastern or Western Armenian, deeanni?

Yes, it is... if u have this, remember that the author inside says that the spelling is the same in western or eastern armenian so both can understand what is in the book. But I have some materials specifically for Eastern. I can give u correct pronunciation sounds for Eastern. The author says that western uses the same sounds for different letters and eastern retains the original letter sounds. It is like the difference between England's English and America's English to me. Different pronunciation with different flair to say it even though it is the same language. Do u have Yahoo Messenger? Perhaps I can give u some links. I have some good ones and even a great site we can learn from that is fun.
