I am reading a book by Will Durant, called The Mansions of Philosophy; A Survey of Human Life and Destiny. This is the first philosophy tome I have ever tried. I am just over halfway through it.

I am wondering what others think of this book specifically, and Will Durant generally.

I am enjoying the read so far. I find he is an excellent writer, and while he keeps the reading light, the thoughts are deep. Also would be looking for other books along the same vein as this, either by him, or someone else.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

When I looked up this title it also matched on Pleasures of Philosophy. I have not read this book but I have read The Story of Philosophy which is more of a chronological review of western philosophy. If you enjoy Durant's writing you might try the second volume. I also found a page on Facebook dedicated to Pleasures of Philosophy.
