Could anyone suggest good books on the Depression? I am more concerned with reading about everyday life rather than the economics of the period.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have not read this yet but it has been recommended on LT. The title is Daily Life in the United States, 1920-1940: How Americans Lived Through the Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression by David E. Kyvig.
ETA: Touchstones don't seem to be working.
EETA: Edited to change Touchstones. You learn something new every day -- if you're lucky.

Sometimes the touchstones are touchy about punctuation.
Oh, that looks like a good suggestion, it is going on my wishlist. Thanks

This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but try Pamela Kehrberg's Rooted in Dust. It is about the Dust Bowl and Depression in Kansas.

Betty Smith's A Tree Grows in Brooklyn covers a longer period of time, but includes the Depression.

An excellent book about life in the Depression Era Dustbowl is the The Worst Hard Time by Tomoth Egan.

I second the endorsement of The Worst Hard Time. It won the National Book Award a couple years ago.
