Hello all,
Can anyone recommend a picture book or two about football? I know Sarah Garland's Pass it Polly but would love to find some more (whether about boys or girls)

Thanks in anticipation,
Zoe

There are dozens of comics in Dutch about football (soccer), but unless you speak it, they have a different audience)

As it happens I do speak/read Dutch (though I can't write it at all well....) - my husband's Dutch and we're raising our kids bilingually, so if you have a favourite football comic do let me know!

OK, not dozens, but here are some of the popular titles:
Realistic:
De wondersloffen van Sjakie
Roel Dijkstra
Ronnie Hansen
Rob van de rovers
Kick Wilstra

Funny:
Appie Happie
FC Knudde

See http://www.zilverendolfijn.nl/zz/fs/1/NL/zd.html and look for the covers to see what you like. Some of them are difficult to find, others are 1 euro each.

In the UK there are some football comics as well. I can think of Roy and the Rovers and I think Ronnie Hansen was translated into english. Your average comics store should have a few. A 5 year old would like De Wondersloffen van Sjakie.

fantastis! I'm sure my husband will enjoy these as much as me and my kids! Thanks for pointing me to them.
