15 or so years ago I read a book called The Wall (I think). It was written by a woman; about a woman who is staying at a friend's house out in the country. At some point she realizes that the bomb has dropped and she's likely one of few survivors; she discovers an invisible wall running through the property.
I can't seem to locate this book on LT and can't remember the author's name. Anyone here know of it? It was a compelling book.

Could it be The Wall Around Eden by Joan Slonczewski?

It's The Wall (Die Wand) by Marlen Haushofer; that's the English translation of the title. About a mysterious post-apocalyptic world in which a woman alone in a cabin wakes up one day and there is an invisible wall around her valley.

I love that book! It should be in our Feminist SF canon, even if not a lot of people have read it. She's the last person in the world and is in this tiny valley with a dog and a cow... It's quite disturbing.

There's a book by Angela Carter called Love - is that what you mean? Do you have any more details?
