Change username?

Is there a way to change your username? Or, do you have to re-register under the new name?

That feature isn't working at the moment, but I believe they're working on it. If this is a new account that you haven't done anything with re-registering is your best option. And if you don't want to lose the work of entering books there is an option to transfer books between accounts which you could take advantage of.

Since you only have six books and a free account, rather than waiting on the bug fix you'd probably be better off just re-entering them under the new name and deleting them from the old account. The old, empty account will stick around forever (at one point they said they were considering deleting empty accounts that hadn't been accessed for some time, since so many people accidentally created typo accounts, but they've never actually done that), but that's not really a major problem.

I hope they are because I changed my username and am really regretting it and want to change back :(

For the record, lots of sites don't allow you to change your user name ever. We're sort of in-between. Our system makes it hard, but not impossible. :)

PM sent! And thank you so much. I know that on a lot of sites, usernames are written in stone, and I really did not relish the idea of re-entering 400+ books on a new account. o.O

I, too, made a mistake on my username.....I chose the name of my organization, but I realized that what I have (and want) is a personal account. I've already entered about 100 books, so if there's any way for me to change it, that would be wonderful. Let me know.

I am writing to see if I can change my username. I have a personal username currently (dharmayng) but want my students to have access to my library without using my personal username. Could I switch it to Mrs. Young or Heather Young? Thanks in advance for your help. I have 2000 books in my library and most definitely don't want to re-enter them!

From your profile go to Account settings. Near the bottom of that page is a link to the page for asking for a user name change.

"User name change requests are processed in the order they're received. Please allow for up to a week for the user name change to take effect. You will be notified via email or profile comment once your user name has been changed."
