In recognition of "Freedom to Read Week" in Canada, the Pelham Public Library, Fonthill, Ontario is issuing a "Banned Book Challenge." You set the goal to read x number of books between now and June. Give us some feedback on why you think the book was banned or just give us a book review, then let us know if you met your goal. Visit http://www.pelhamlibrary.blogspot.com/2007/02/take-banned-book-challenge.html
to register or to get more information. Not sure what to read. We have a ton of banned book lists or click on our LibraryThing logo to see which banned books are in the Pelham Library.

Before last christmas I started a project to read the 42 banned or challenged books listed on http://www.ala.org/ala/pio/piopresskits/bbbwpresskit/bannedchallenged.htm .

I've now completed 5 of them and am Now reading "The Great Gatsby".

I've read 30 on the ALA list; alas, for now, it's enough of a challenge to read the books I already have...
