Hi,
I need your help...I'm currently stocking up on books regarding Kurds and Kurdistan. I'm interested in everything, culture, politics, coffee table books, novels (written by Kurds, not Karl May), memoirs and travelogues.
Do you have any recommendations?
Thanks,
Élena

I'm aware of A Modern History of the Kurds, by David McDowall, though have not read it myself so cannot comment either for or against.
My Father's Paradise: A Son's Search for His Jewish Past in Kurdish Iraq, by Ariel Sabar, has been on my to-read list for some while. Sabar grew up in California, the son of Iraqi Kurdish Jews who immigrated to the U.S., and the book is his family's story.
