I was just looking at my Favorited venues on my Profile page and noticed that random bookstores have "(Chicago)" after them. Anyone know if the venues are being edited for this redundancy towards a specific aim? Is it necessary to combat a bug or a Booksense foible or something?

Looks like that is just the way someone entered them. Makes sense for the chain stores, and may even be part of the name for those locations, to distinguish them from locations in the suburbs or in other cities. If some of these are for local bookstores with only one location, you can always go in there and edit the name. Before you do that, I would suggest checking to see whether the store actually owns and manages the entry.

No, I wasn't talking about those "Chicago" distinctions---done many of them myself to distinguish between chain stores in a city. At the time I wrote my post there were literally bookstores that had in parentheses (Chicago) after their full names as though they had been edited. Looks like maybe it was hiccup or bug of some sort because they disappeared soon after but thanks for responding.
