Hello, everyone! I suppose I'll just dive right into my reading list...

Re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I forgot how many plot-holes there are. And can you say deus ex machina? Ah, but it's Harry Potter—I'll go with it.

Also working my way through chapters 2 and 3 of America: A Concise History for my AP History class. For the most part, it's not as boring as I would have imagined.

I actually read that concise history, preparing for a Praxis test to be able to teach in Teach for America. I found it pretty good for that kind of a review, and, as you said, not a bad read, although not great or original.

Now on to PLUTARCH'S LIVES, VOL. 4.—Although I only picked it up to read about Caesar, Pompey, and Cato.

The Brothers Karamazov—Not very far into it because other things keep popping up, but I've loved it so far.

A Prayer for Owen Meany—For my English class. I think I actually like this one less than The Scarlet Letter. It's rare that I find a book so boring. Heck, I'm reading about ancient Roman politics and I don't find it near as dull (though, people don't get stuck with a sword quite so many times in Owen Meany as they do in Roma—maybe that's it).

Finished A Prayer for Own Meany. Yay!
Some parts were good, but most of it dragged. It's a pity that I'll probably have to write a paper about this book next week.

Finished what I wanted to read in Plutarch. Wish there were more people like Cato in Washington (minus the whole noble suicide thing).
