Ok what is the deal with this book by Chuck Hinton, My time at bat? I am the only person on this web site who has the book (at least hard cover edition). Is the book that bad? is it to much about religion and not enough about baseball? or is it just hard to find?

Hi ZB, I have quite a few books in my library that nobody else had posted, and a lot of them are good and/or interesting books indeed! Often it has nothing about how good a book is. In this particular case, it might have to do with the fact that Hinton was fairly well known while he played, but was in no way a big superstar. So if you were going to fill up a shelf of baseball bios, you could easily do that with bios of players much better known. That doesn't mean the book is bad or even that people disapprove of or don't care about the subject matter (religion vs. baseball, for example, to refer to your question). Just that they've never heard or come across the book itself. Hope that makes sense.
