Has anyone brought up the idea of entering travel brochures? Handouts from places of interest? Info on tours? I save this kind of thing from my travels, but don't know if it's the kind of thing that would make sense to catalog here.

I've entered the pamphlets that I've received or purchased while traveling. I like to keep these with the travel books that I have, so it is nice to have them cataloged.

Some of mine have ISBNs and so don't. Sometimes finding an author is tricky, so I'll use the publisher if necessary.

I entered one - it's called Rubens House, Antwerp (http://www.librarything.com/work/book/40633861). It includes a description of the Museum, and a guide to what is in the Museum (photos of what is in the museum along with descriptions) and some info on Ruben's life, including a chronology of his life. It was a handout included with the price of admission.

Another document I chose not to enter was a description of tours available of Hong Kong. I went on one of the tours and kept the brochure. I guess it was more commercial than I thought ought to go into LibraryThing.

I have several small pamphlets that you get when going to museums. Some of them describe the current exhibits, while others just summarize what is in the museum, something about the founder - this often for very small museums.

Seem pretty good. I like how you entered all the editors and photographers, nice! I would be nice if you entered a description or review. Someone could find this and think it is a book.

Good idea - I'll do that.

I have just started to enter my travel books, maps, pamphlets and brochures. As I still use the brochures and pamphlets as a starting point for revisiting a place, I've decided to include all that I have as that will work best for me. However, after the title I am including (Brochure) or maybe (Pamphlet) I'm unsure about which to use but went for if the item calls itself Brochure then I'll use that. I'm hoping that way to avoid others thinking that the entry might be a book. ... and it gives me a record of my travels

Sounds good. When my wife and I travel we usually get a guide books and mark off what we have seen. Then promptly lose the guide book on returning home. Might be better if I catalog it.
