So, Marylanders, what book projects, challenges, reads, wishes, etc. do you have in mind for 2009?

Hey there! I'm taking part in the 75 Books Challenge for 2009 here on LT. It's my first reading challenge in a *very* long time.

...and I'm doing the 50 Book Challenge for 2009. Don't you think we Maryland "Challengers" should include at least one book by a Maryland author for our various challenges? :)

P.S. Did you know that Barbara Kingsolver was born in Annapolis, Maryland?!

ETA: I'm also doing the 999 Challenge. I thought that one was fun last year when it was the 888 Challenge. :)

That's a great idea, and I didn't know that about Barbara Kingsolver -- that's awesome!

75 Books Challenge for me. Also, I'm working on the Presidents challenge in which we read bios of all the presidents before the next election.

Book related: Pester Tim about getting Collections going so I can start culling books from my shelves... No wait, that is my on-going project...

I want to see if I can get published in 09.

If you get published, I'd like a signed copy of your book. I'm rooting for you (and I don't even like science fiction)! Glad to know your book is almost complete.

I'm doing the 50 book challenge this year. Me and my mom (MDLady) made it a competition.

The first one to 50 gets dinner and a BAMM/Boarders gift card courtesy of the Loser.

She is currently winning by 2 books but the year is young my friends!

Speaking of getting published, i'm no where close to that point but my newyears resolution is to finish atleast a first draft. I have a plethora of notes and such I just need to string them all together.

gilroy- I'm a big science fiction fan, I hope this year brings you luck!

My goal is to get my LT (and bookshelves!) properly synced and organized after the Great Book Clearout of 2008. Then possibly take care of Mom's attic...

I attempted the 100 books challenge last year, but only managed 77 - that I own, and remembered to mark in LT, anyway. My goal on that front for next year is a) to make at least the same number as last year, and b) to have a Collections feature so I can track read-not-owned better! (*grumblegrumble* :P)

If I could just get all my books cataloged that would be great. I still waiting for Collections, too, so the kid's and hubby's books can be cataloged without comingling. I love them a lot but mixing their books up with mine in the catalog is going too far.
