no way! I wish I wasn't already busy tomorrow. Maybe I can sneak over on sunday. I love that bookstore, mostly the basement :)

I hope they hold such sales again. It is unfortunate that the most-interesting books were not arranged by category, but seemingly by acquisition number. Sniff.

How was it?

I walked over this afternoon and was only saved from buying a Shorter OED by the fact that it weighed a billion pounds and I was going to have to carry it a mile and a half. I too was disappointed about the way the used section was organized, though. It was too overwhelming to try to shelf-read everything in there, and after a while my brain just shut down. I really hope they do it again, sometime, though, it was pretty fantastic.

Yeah, the used section (most of the sale) wasn't organized very well and the books weren't really all that much of a "deal" (same prices as in the store). The $1 and $3 tables definitely had some goodies, though, and the remainders are always worth a glance; I found some things in there.

It was OK, but they clearly didn't expect the response it got. My wife and I went there at about 11:00 on Saturday and the line was about 60 people long to buy. The organization was terrible, but there were deals to be had - although I was very annoyed to find that a book I bought for $40, thinking it was a deal, actually went for less than that, new, online. Hopefully it will be done again, but with better organization, both of the books, and of the event itself.
