I started The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan a few weeks ago (yes, I said "weeks") and I'm really struggling. I want to like this book, and read the entire series. I've read approximately half of the book and I'm just stuck. There is nothing remotely interesting going on. I keep putting it aside to read other things. Is there any reason to attempt to finish the book or the series besides the fact that Brandon Sanderson is writing the final book?

No. I got sick of the nothing happening after the fourth book other than that twerp twirling her hair and gave up forever.

Well I loved the books, have read them all and am slowly listening to them again hoping to be caught up by the time the last one comes out late next year. However if it hasn't caught you by now more than likely you are going to be struggling through all 11000 pages.

I'm going to let it sit for now.

Morphy, that's my frustration. There are brief portions with excitment followed by pages upon pages of nothing.

Readafew, I've been able to listen to books that I absolutely could not get into while reading them. Maybe I'll try that before I give up completely.

I should have known that Green Dragon buddies could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

I'm another big fan of the series, but if it's not grabbing you, then it's not grabbing you. I got to the point where when I wasn't reading, I'd be wondering what the characters were doing without me. But, if you're halfway through and you don't feel the compulsion to go back and read more, then the rest of the series is probably going to be a struggle too.

Maybe put it down for a while and see if you do start wondering what's going to happen next?
