Can anyone help me read some Dutch.

I'm talking at this library conference in Amsterdam, and I can't figure out when. I gather it's both October 7 and 8, but I can't figure out what time of day!

I'm "Tim Spalding." Am I speaking at 10am on the 7th or the 8th? I need to book the flight...

If that works it will take you to an online translator but the bit I tried from after your name came back as "Time Spalding more information follows" so perhaps they are not sure yet when you are speaking.

I hope you enjoy Amsterdam, I went once and it's a beautiful city.

Most Dutch also speak english...have you tried asking them?

It also looks like you are on the schedule for the afternoon too.

and I found you at 8 oktober

at 10.00 - 11.30 Tim Spalding keynote (Workshop – Bibliotheek 2.0 is happeNing!)

at 15.45 - 16.30 Tim Spalding, Jan, Edwin, Rob, Liesbeth, ... Bibliotheek 2.0 debat

It is not easy readable, even for a Dutch ;-)

Are we sure I'm not talking at 10:00 on the 7th? It seems very mixed up, like I'm supposed to be doing it twice.

if you are doing it twice, it would be at the 7th as well, but there is: 10.00-11.30: Keynote by Erwin Blom.
Can you mail anyone there

After reading it four times I am almost sure you are supposed to speak at:
7 oktober 14.30-16.45
8 oktober 10.00-11.30 and 15.45-16.30

Thanks. I think you're right. I found another schedule on a Dutch blog.

Anyway, I'm coming in the morning of the 7th. If they want me to speak at 10, it'll be a fast cab ride and I won't have showered...

Take the train from Schiphol airport to RAI congress centre.
It is a 15 minute ride by train and a 45 minute ride by car (due to morning traffic) and it is a lot cheaper. Train stations are inside Schiphol airport and RAI congress centre. When in doubt, ask. (Everybody in NL speaks english as a 2nd, 3rd ... language.)
There are showers in the Congress centre.

Papiervisje is right. Car / taxi isn't the best way to get round in Amsterdam at any time of day (heavy traffic & old city - they don't mix well) and it looks like you'll arrive during morning peak. And the train connection between Schiphol Airport and RAI congress centre is good.

p.s.: just to make sure, Holland (as all of Europe) is still on summer (Daylight saving) time then ( http://www.time.org/ under CEST)

Hi Tim,

Just to be sure I posted your question on http://bibliotheek20happe.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=2025781%3ATopic%3A2848 as well. I hope the final confirmation will follow soon!

Thanks for the advice about the train—and for confirming that RAI Center was a place...
