Anyone up for JFK? The lists found at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum are not very detailed, mostly just author and title. One list in particular is labeled "Not Comprehensive", so this would only be a start until more information can be found.

I created the profile for JohnFKennedy, and have listed the first 133 books. The book lists I've worked from are not good. The information is thin. Only a small number of books have anything more than the title listed. One list is found at the link above and called "Not Comprehensive". I did not tag those books. At the bottom of the Not Comprehensive list is a link to "Books at 122 Bowdoin Street". I tagged the books "122 Bowdoin Street" from that list.
I was careful to add editions which made the most sense. Like, pre-1963 (duh), and if a book had a printing of 1937 and 1944, I'd choose 1937, as JFK likely wasn't buying a lot of books in 1944. I could be wrong, but it's what I have to go on. I'd also choose the trade hardback, not reprint editions, like Grosset & Dunlap, or paperbacks. There were very few. One interesting thing, he had several books related to Life Insurance. Also, a bit more Communist/ Left stuff than I anticipated.
What remains to be entered now are mostly official reports of different sorts. There are also a few titles which are too vague to deduce which one is meant. So, I can send anyone the list of which books are yet needed to be found (or manually entered).

Does someone want to contact them and ask if more info is available? Jeremy might be the best choice, but anyone can do it.

I have some good contacts over at the JFK, so I'm happy to see what they've got if everyone's alright with that ... it'll have to wait until next week, though. In the meantime, benjclark, if you could, please add some information to the profile page about what decisions you made in adding books to the LT catalogue and where you got the titles from.

That would be wonderful. The information I've been able to find is simply not detailed enough. Some already included are completely unknown as far as edition is concerned. I'll update the profile as suggested. Thanks! Enjoy yourself at Monticello. I'll report back on Patrick Henry...

Would whoever's updating this library mind accepting Marilyn Monroe's friend request? Thanks.

Speaking of which, has anyone else read the long (pages and pages) footnote on sex in Forty Ways to Look at JFK? Boffo.

Ok, I know there is something in the works to do a needed overhaul of JFK's library via the folks that have his books. However, there is an ebay listing for a couple of his books up, and I'd hate to see the info disappear once the listing ends, since it's a couple of those hard to ID types. Should I just add them to the existing JFK library?
