CoverGuess delivering blank covers

CoverGuess is showing me blank covers - just a white rectangle with the amazon and LT logolinks below, you can click through to the cover to an actual book, but if you add tags (for that book or saying blank) and hit submit it does not show up on the righthand side with other people's guesses, instead you just have the next book on the left with nothing on the right.

murderby death reported it happening several times yesterday and I'd seen it once, I'm now getting them repeatedly, blank each time - can't play the game.

I believe that lemontwist mentioned this earlier than that and that Tim responded just after his report.

No, the placeholder covers of a book in a circle are different from these - they're mostly found on videos and you can skip past them fine.

I'm having the problem, too.

Just reloaded yet again and got a new cover, so something must have timed out? We'll see how long I can play for - no one else currently playing.

And now it's blanking again.

It says "inserted: 100" above the Tag this cover line.

I got the same problem. Also with The Giver as cover.
Both on PC and Android, in Chrome.

Thanks for the report/s. Can someone post a screenshot the next time they come across one of these covers? Also, can you try to copy the image URL (if one exists) of the broken image and put it here? This would definitely help the next time these come up. I'll pass this along to the developers in the meantime. Seems to be happening outside of LT's usual working hours (Eastern Time).

I'm getting continuous blank covers again in Cover Guess. They all go to a copy of Little Women https://www.librarything.com/work/30215796

Yeah I'm also getting lots of continuous blank covers. Mine are going to NIV Study Bible https://www.librarything.com/work/30168970

It's now unplayable. No matter how many times I skip the blank cover, I don't get to a normal one again to keep tagging.

That work is now combined into https://www.librarything.com/work/2770499 – it looked like somebody had separated and abandoned a single edition of Little Women which had an ISBN that was also on many editions of /2770499, if that was any part of the cause. It also had a canonical title (now removed after combine) if that may have been part of it. So will be intrigued to know whether the blank covers persist, or now point to /2770499, or point to somewhere else.

This blank cover issue is still happening at 4:49PM on Sunday 6-11-23. (Even though I see it being described as "fixed" on the other chat. I'll get 1 or 2 covers and then it goes to that blank cover. (It's some kind of Bible.)

OK, it looks like this issue has been resolved! Our apologies everyone, for the frustration this past weekend.

In light of the fact that players have lost a little time because of this problem, we're extending the CoverGuess game by a day. Initially, it was set to close today, but we have decided to close it tomorrow, June 13th, at 12pm EDT.
