No results are showing up when I try to combine series, even though there are three identical series

I can't explain why the searching doesn't work.
However combining is still possible another way:
Of these three series, "three" is currently a Series whereas "one" and "two" are Publisher Series. The system doesn't display overlaps when the series are different types but if you were to change "one" and "two" from Publisher Series into just Series, the relationship to "three" would then appear along with the option to combine in the Relationships/Combine menu.

Seems to be an issue of Publisher Series rather than regular Series
To reproduce:
1. go to https://www.librarything.com/nseries/related/265913
2. select the "Add Relationship" button
3. enter "mit press essential" in the search box and select the "search" button
Bug(?): "No results" are returned.
NB: do steps 2-3 from the regular series page on https://www.librarything.com/nseries/related/26125 and the search finds only the regular series (no publisher series).
I'm not sure if the series search is meant to find publisher series or not (though the search box says, "Search for a related publisher series"), but it should at least find the regular series.I'd also think that you should be able to add relationships between pub series and regular series... Editing to say I wonder if there is indeed a use case where we need to add a relationship between a publisher series and regular series..

In a way it is possible:
It will accept relationships being added when both series are the same type.
Changing the type of one series makes the relationships disappear from view.
Then changing the type of the other series makes the relationships reappear.
But I believe it was a design choice not to make them show up when the is a mismatch between the series types (I suppose because the designers judged that there should never be a legitimate relationship across from a series to a publisher series, so having that switched on would just give us a spam of "overlaps with" on popular series that have works in tons of publisher series).

I have combined the series as >3 Nevov: noted could be done.
I left it as a regular series as that seems to be what it is, also cleaned up settings.
The underlying issue of searching publisher series is still present.

Bump on this for https://www.librarything.com/topic/343764.
Also testing Touchstones search for Publisher Series: [[[The Criterion Collection]]] does not find the Publisher Series at https://www.librarything.com/nseries/258236/The-Criterion-Collection I've been corrected by timspalding that this isn't a bug.

Okay, I think this issue is now resolved thanks to knerd.knitter's update to the series relationship logic!
You can now search for other publisher series from publisher series pages, for relationship purposes. ("Like" series can search for "Like" series, so regular Series can find other Series and Publisher Series can find other Publisher Series.)
I believe I've added the relationship for the Creole Language Library / Contact Language Library correctly (reported at https://www.librarything.com/topic/343764), but feel free to correct my work at https://www.librarything.com/nseries/344153/Contact-Language-Library
