Nationalities bug

On my Author Nationalities page, Winston Churchill and Phil Barker show up as "Not set". I suspect this is something to do with them being split authors - in Churchill's case there's also aliasing going on - but other split authors don't seem to suffer the same fate, and all my books by them are, as far as I can see, correctly assigned to splits with a Nationality set (UK in both cases, as it happens).

So what's going on?

In the case of Winston Churchill, I suggest that you try changing your author to match the work.

In the case of Phil Barker, you have him listed in both UK and in Not set. There must be a work that isn't in the split.
De Bellis Antiquitatis Simple Fast Play Ancient Wargame and Campaign Rules I added Phil Barker as an Other Author, and could assign the split. That took him out of not set.

This is a problem when your author doesn't match the work author, because if the work isn't set to split on the page of your author, the computer doesn't know what to do.

>2 MarthaJeanne: Yep. I believe the logic is good, here, so no bug at play.

Thanks.

Why, though, should it matter if my book 's author isn't the work author, as long as my author has a Nationality set?

(I'm a bit loath to change Winston Churchill to Winston S. Churchill when my copy omits the middle initial.)

Because the work isn't on the Winston Churchill page. Your copy has no connection to the nationality set there.
