I'm aware that Paula Rego illustrated Peter Pan and Nursery Rhymes for the Folio Society, both marvellous publications (especially the Ann Muir special/limited edition versions). Did she illustrate any other works for FS?
A sad loss, but a long life lived well is always good to see.

Sad news. I am glad she lived to see the magnificent Tate Gallery retrospective of last year.

>1 cronshaw: I saw the obit too, she had a productive if at times tormented life (like many a great artist). I wasn't able to find any other FS books she illustrated, though there is a standalone version of her illustrated Nursery Rhymes available apart from the FS one. I was hoping there was a Taschen retrospective of her work, but am not finding one. Perhaps they'll rectify that in coming years.

>1 cronshaw: Agree that she was a powerful artist, but from what little I have read, I’m not sure she was a good parent.
I have a surreal memory of going to see an exhibition of her work at Abbott Hall, Kendal in 2001 during foot & mouth restrictions, driving through a landscape devoid of livestock.
Unaware of any other FS publications illustrated by Rego.

According to Foio 60 she also provided some of the illustrations for Andersen's Complete Tales in 2005. (or an illustration, it doesn't specify). Nothing else though.
