Add Books through text file

Hello. Is there anyway to add a large number of books that I own, which are in a single text file, that would make a new manual entry for each item/line? I really don't want to have to add thousands by hand when I have a simple .txt file that lists them all...

You want to go to the Import Export page:
https://www.librarything.com/more/import

Follow the instructions and it should upload your file

>2 gilroy: I've tried that, but because these books do not have ISBNs, they won't upload. I need it to create a new entry for each, but is there a way to automate that if I have a list of all the books/films? Without entering it in by hand?

>3 C_Rayburn: Click on "Universal Upload" on the import screen. It will open this: https://www.librarything.com/import

There is a sample file on the bottom right side of the page. You need to fill it in EXACTLY as it is with your data -- that will bypass the "ISBN lookup" stage and will add the books as you have them in your file.

>4 AnnieMod: Thank you very much. Ironically enough, I just discovered that by accident. This greatly (GREATLY) helps me with getting a grasp on my collection and saves an immense amount of time. Thank you ever so much!!! :) Have a truly amazing day, and truly, I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

>5 C_Rayburn: Just be careful if you have books with ISBNs - these will still go through lookup :) Leave the ISBN out if you want to add them as they are (and add it later). Do some tests to see what works the best for you and have fun :)
