Apologies for the lateness of the poll for the next two months. Please nominate up to two books for our group reads for February and March, and second as many nominated books as you like. I’ll close the nominations in the next week.

I will nominate Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin hopefully for February, which is Black History month in the U.S.

I'll also nominate The Hamlet by William Faulkner.

I'm sorry I've either read or am very uninterested in all the books mentioned above! (I have found that I can't stomach books about addiction)

I would like to nominate Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll and A Hero of Our Time by Mikhail Lermontov.

I second Giovanni's Room and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

I will second Through the Looking Glass. I don't think I've actually ever read that!

Given that we are in February and there are 8 books seconded as our group reads I will open the poll. Vote for as many books as you like but please vote only once:

Can I withdraw my vote for HAPPY? I’ve liked other books by this author but this one is a dystopian novel that sounds… well, I wouldn’t read it.

Two books ahead of the rest - The Crow Road and New Grub Street. These will be our group reads for February and March.
