I personally enjoy given and I hear the sunspot. The order of the second one is REALLY funky, so you might have to look that up.
BL (Boys Love) Is meant for teens and younger audiences.
Yaoi has more mature content, meaning it is meant for ages 18+

I see "BL" usually including yaoi, while the untranslated "shounen-ai" (with all of its spellings) is what's used for subtler romances meant for readers under 18 years... which means no kissing* between same-gender characters or explicit sex scenes. (Violence is allowed, though?)

(*and this depends on the time of publication, as the censorship laws in Japan change)

Much of shounen-ai tends to get on my nerves for feeling too much like the work from several decades that stayed on the line where the creators could argue that the main characters are only really good friends. Nothing more, of course not! That line and its defense has messed with expectations across cultures and feeds into a nasty mentality that screws over too many queer people. I probably would've appreciated it more as a teenager...though back then and through my 20s, characters who declared their love for someone of the same gender was likely to die, whether or not the declaration was in internal dialogue or ever expressed with so much as a hand-hold.

I think I would have have been hugely appreciative of the shounen-ai coming out now. Characters go on dates with their crushes, tell their friends and families about their love interests, and fewer die from "divine punishment" for liking another boy (or man, as these characters are rarely children in the main storylines).

Okay, those were my opinions. For recommendations of contemporary and realistic BL...

High-school Characters:
• My Love Mix-Up! by Wataru Hinekure
Seven Days: Monday-Sunday by Venio Tachibana

Post-HS Characters:
10 Dance by Inouesatoh
(CN: Racist microagressions in the latest volume, which seem after everything else up to that point seem... accidental? Might be edited out of digital versions)
Antique Bakery by Fumi Yoshinaga (note: part of the story was rejected by the publishing house but released as doujinshi by the author) and
What Did You Eat Yesterday? by Fumi Yoshinaga
Does the Flower Blossom? by Hidaka Shouko
Only the Flower Knows by Rihito Takarai
