Reviewers Seeking Books

This thread is for either reviewers to request books from authors, or for authors to arrange review swapping with other authors.

AUTHORS WHO ARE NOT OFFERING TO WRITE REVIEWS SHOULD NOT POST HERE.
This is the thread for reviewers to post on. Authors already have a ton of threads of their own: the Introductions thread, the various promotions thread, etc.

If an Author is interested in review swapping, they should be aware that Amazon considers this practice unacceptable behavior, so they should probably arrange for the reviews to be posted somewhere other than Amazon. Like, say, here on LT, on a personal blog, or on some other book site.

I will attempt to maintain an index of the potential reviewers so that people arriving can tell at a glance which reviewers will be a good match for their book, and won't need to scan the entire thread.

Reviewers who post fully positive or fully negative reviews with no substance, or factually inaccurate reviews, will be removed from the index. (At least, they will be removed if I notice, or if someone complains.) I think it would be awesome if we read more of each other's books, but I am not in favor of encouraging people to post oodles of junk reviews here on LT (or anywhere else, for that matter).

If you arrange a review with someone found here, please come back to this thread and note when they post the review, and even more importantly, let us know if they do not post the review. This will allow me to keep track of the listed reviewers, so that I can keep the index up-to-date, and nobody will have to waste their time trying to arrange reviews with reviewers who are no longer available. :)

Reviewer's posts should include which genres they are willing to read, how they prefer to be contacted (on their profile here, via form on their website, etc), where the reviews will be posted, and how long the author should wait for the review to appear before coming back and complaining that you've gone AWOL.

There is an example reviewer post, immediately following the Reviewer Index.

Example post:

Hi! I'm L. Shelby, I'm an author and I'm not really willing to review books in exchange for other people reviewing my books, but I'm pretending to do so for the sake of this example post. I am wiling to do book exchanges and possibly beta-reading.

I read: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Mystery, Historical Fiction, Historical Romance, and most kinds of Non-Fiction (But not porn, horror, politics, or religion.)

I write: Fantasy and Science Fiction, some of which masquerades as Historical Adventure/Romance. (Reviewers who are not authors looking to do swaps don't need to list what they write.) :)

Contact me here on my LT profile LShelby with a brief description of the book in question. If it sounds interesting I will make arrangements to swap ebook files/digital manuscripts with you via email.

I won't post the review on my personal blog, here on LT, or anywhere else, because I have a phobia of posting reviews. (If you check my account you will see I have yet to post a single review here on LT.) But I will send it to you privately via email, and you will have my permission to quote it if you want to. I will also add your book to my LT account, so that you will have another copy listed, for whatever that is worth. If you make a point of asking, I will add it to my Goodreads account as well. :)

I will respond within one month of receiving your book, either with my review or with a letter of apology stating the reasons why the review is delayed or will not be forthcoming.

Hello. Daisy here. I'm a long-time reviewer on LibraryThing, Goodreads, BookBub and Amazon. I'm also an author and editor. I like to read historical fiction, Christian books, action/adventure and nonfiction. I cannot accept ebook review copies at this time, but I would be happy to review physical copies or downloadable mp3 audiobooks.

If anybody has a book that sounds like something I would like, please feel free to leave a comment on my profile. I am sometimes overloaded with books to review or edit, so at times it can take up to three months to put my review up; however, I usually am much quicker. Please contact me if curious about my progress.

Please only post in the thread if you are interested in reading other people's books and writing reviews about them.

Posts asking to have people review your books are totally fine... only they belong in the other promotion threads, and not here. So when I see them here, I am going to be hiding them, so that the thread stays on topic.

(I'm also going to take a good look at my instructions to see if I can't make the difference clearer.)

If anyone who had their post hidden for this reason wants to edit that post so that it is more about what books they are interested in reading and less about what they have written, then they may certainly do so. Just drop me a note on my profile page afterward, so I know to "unhide" it. :)

>9 LShelby: Hi Shelby, I deleted the post and pasted it in another thread... hopefully the right one this time! Thank you for explaining this to me! Glad you are back on your feet!
