4majkia
>3 LadyoftheLodge: let me ponder it for a bit.
6Robertgreaves
Could I have June, please? The theme I have in mind is "detectives in translation"
7LibraryCin
I'm not sure if I'll host this time or not, but I would like to follow along, as I'll likely participate.
8thornton37814
I'd like to do December with the "Holiday Mysteries" theme.
11cyderry
>10 Tess_W: wouldn't gothic fit more with October/Halloween?
12Tess_W
>11 cyderry: I thought so, but thought somebody might have a better topic than me for Halloween. I'm fine with either, October or November!
13DeltaQueen50
I'll take January and start us off with Series, something I am always working on!
14cyderry
>13 DeltaQueen50: Maybe starting a series for the beginning of the year?
15DeltaQueen50
>14 cyderry: That would definitely work!
17LadyoftheLodge
Thanks all for quick replies! I will update our thread.
18LadyoftheLodge
>16 clue: Cold case mysteries would work. I don’t think we have had that topic yet. Check above for the available months.
19LadyoftheLodge
>12 Tess_W: You can do October if you prefer. That month is available.
20LadyoftheLodge
I will choose my month and topic after others get a chance to select theirs.
22LadyoftheLodge
>21 clue: Okay, thanks!
24LadyoftheLodge
>23 cyderry: That is cool, right? LOL
26christina_reads
I'd like to volunteer to host a Golden Age mysteries month...how about July?
27LadyoftheLodge
>26 christina_reads: Thanks!
28LadyoftheLodge
Four months are remaining on MysteryKIT. Any takers?
29Tanya-dogearedcopy
>28 LadyoftheLodge: I haven't participated much in this kit in the past, but I would like to step up and host May: Historical Fiction Mysteries :-)
30LadyoftheLodge
>29 Tanya-dogearedcopy: Thank you! It is yours.
32lowelibrary
I will host an animal mystery month. A book where one of the crime solvers is an animal. I would like September.
33LadyoftheLodge
>31 majkia: Thanks! Do you have a preference? August and October remain, and I will take whichever one you do not take.
35LadyoftheLodge
>34 majkia: Thank you. We have a full slate for 2022. Thanks to all who volunteered so quickly.
36thornton37814
I should be able to find stuff for most months with the possible exception of technothrillers. It's not a genre where I spend much time reading. I'll probably begin looking through some of the books on my 2022 intended reading list to see which ones fit which category.
37LadyoftheLodge
>31 majkia: Can you explain more about technothrillers?
38majkia
>37 LadyoftheLodge: Sure.
Think of technothrillers as any fiction where technology is a part of the plot and impacts the outcome. So Tom Clancy, James Rollins, Michael Chrichton, Blake Crouch, Steig Larson are examples, but any book that uses tech as an important aspect will work.
Also, I'd comment that books about Blechley Park and turing devices definitely work. A lot of spy novels will work.

40mstrust
Looks like a fun year of mysteries! Some of these themes will get me to look into stuff I don't normally go to.
41LadyoftheLodge
Thanks again for all who volunteered to host. We have an interesting list of topics. Looking forward to reading in 2022.
42Robertgreaves
Because of family stuff, June is not looking good as a month for me to host. Would anybody be willing to swap months?
43Tanya-dogearedcopy
>42 Robertgreaves: I'll swap you out! I'm already hosting another monthly challenge in May, so a swap out would make my life a little easier. Let me know if that will work :-)
44Robertgreaves
>43 Tanya-dogearedcopy: That would be great, thank you
45LadyoftheLodge
>43 Tanya-dogearedcopy: >44 Robertgreaves: Thanks for taking care of this. I made the swap in our list at the top of this thread.
