I remember a cover was blues/blue green, with a girl walking along the beach in a white dress (away from you).
It's about a girl, who is twin; she's the moody one that doesn't fit in anywhere and her sister is the perfect one. There is conflict at not being perfect and coping with her moodiness, self-esteem and coming to terms with puberty... there might have been a boy in the story.
Was set on a small fishing community (island), her family were fisherman, possibly Canadian... and it won a book award.
It was re-released in the late 90s in the scholastic book club with a different cover
Possibly Remember Me Eli Or remember me E_ _ _. For some reason I like her name started with an A like Aliya or something.
