There was a boy, his brother, and his dad. They decided to live on a boat after their mother had died. While at sea, their father was attacked by a shark, and disappeared shortly afterwards. The main character and his brother found land to rest on, but while his brother was out looking for food, he broke his leg and almost died after it got infected.
