This is driving me crazy! Read a book probably 10 years ago and cannot find it.
Here's what I remember:
The cover had imagery using a butterfly, and it was blue/purple.
A girl had gotten into an accident of some sort. She has trouble with remembering what happened. She slowly discovers her parents have kept her alive using the small part of her brain, the "butterfly" part (I think).
Her parents "re-programmed" her when selecting which parts of her brain to use/reconstruct to make her more obedient to instruction.
She watches old videos of herself as a child.
She cuts into her arm at one point and realizes she doesn't bleed, she just sees something blue (blue "blood? Blue wiring?).
She finds her "Brain" as this black little box, I think.
At one point she ends up tossing it or herself into a small pond?
I PRAY someone can help me with this, it's making me go insane!
