#19–after I first started following ice hockey and the New York Rangers Rod Gilbert became my first favorite player. Not only was he a great player but a really really classy guy. Over at the Rangers boards on Hockeysfuture right now are the testimonials of numerous fans who met and talked with him, had him sit down next to them in the stands and swap stories or went out to dinner with him. He was a happy go lucky guy who appreciated how lucky he was to live his dream.
