As I upgrade my collection of books I realize I need to branch out further than the Folio Society, and take a look particularly at LEC.
But I do need a bit of advice. Once I have identified a target edition what is the most effective way of searching for it. So far I have just used Biblio, but I am sure that does not cover the gamut. Any suggestions?

eBay is my go-to and AbeBooks has a lot to offer. And check with local used book stores (and even nationally via the internet), as they often have LEC inventory on hand. For more general LEC hunting there are also auction houses online that sometimes offer one or more lots of LECs, although with the buyer's premium that can be a costly way to go.

>1 scunliffe: are you in the US or elsewhere? I think it might influence the optimal strategy.
But I'd suggest making a bookmark of a relevant eBay search sorted by newest listed first and then checking it once or twice a day to see what's coming on the market.
Also take a look at viaLibri, which allows you to search many marketplaces at once, including Biblio.

If outside the US, Alibris is a great option because they have low shipping costs (and I find shipping costs are often a problem for LEC books). Their selection isn’t great but definitely worth a look.

>1 scunliffe: I have really found eBay as my preferred search source. The best sellers have 6 to 10 pictures of the book. I've even used this feature to decide whether I'm interested in a particular volume or not. Frequently, there will be more than one copy being offered and one can compare quality and price.
In some cases, I've made contact with sellers who will sell directly without the eBay markup.
Once in a while, someone who does not generally sell antiquarian books will put an LEC on auction. Because that seller will be less followed by fine press enthusiasts, the opportunity for a bargain is increased.
