The book is of an historical romance genre. It is based on fiction.
From the details that I remember, the book was about a heroine who was traumatized by the actions of her father in the past. She began to run an all girls school in their family home(i think) teaching young girls of different ages different skills. There was a time a person was playing a familiar tune on the grand piano and she fainted and had to be carried upstairs.
Then the hero comes into the picture and persistently woos her and she tries to resist. There was a time he taught her how to shoot a bow and arrow and the other girls wanted him to teach them also but he refused because he purposely taught the heroine how to shoot a bow and arrow so as to press his body close to hers. He once made a suggestion about teaching the girls how to use a gun but she shunned the idea immediately.
Later on, I think they were taken to an excursion in which the hero and heroine also followed. I think he proposed to the heroine in his ancestral home where each of his predecessors also proposed to their brides. He also made love to her on the bed in the house. I think he said something like "Marry me and we can do this everyday while they were making love.
Then she finally accepted to marry him and he gave her a ring but the next day she did not wear the ring to breakfast and he asked her why and she said she did not want the girls to ask questions. Even when his hand touched hers, she flinched.
I read the book about six years ago and I have forgotten the title. Help!!!

Because the all-caps message is turning away potential helpers, you might want to reformat your text.

>6 mjreal: Hello can you remember any other details of the book? Please let me know if you remember any

>9 Bluebelle21: I remember that she is scared of guns because her father used to wave guns around when he was drunk and used to physically assault the mother. The day after the hero proposed to the heroine, she did not wear the ring and lied that she did not want the girls to suspect anything. The hero is a titled gentleman.

>10 mjreal: I am sorry for troubling you, but do you remember the time period? Recency? Victorian? Any other?

I think it is just a historical romance but it might have been victorian(I am not sure) but playing of the grand piano was very common in those days and playing of Beethoven, Bach, Mozart and the likes.

I think the title of the book has 'in name only' in it or 'in name only'' is the title. I am not too sure(hope this helps)

I also think the hero proposed to teach the girls in the boarding school how to shoot a bow and arrow and some other skills like that

The only thing that looked similar was the time setting (regency, victorian e.t.c)
Thanks for your help though

I also think one of the major things emphasized in the book was the fact that she ran a girls' school where she taught girls of different ages how to sew, read and write and also play the sonata

Wondering if anyone can help me find a book I read many years ago. I think it was published in the 80s, maybe early 90s. Had a turquoise cover. Mills and boon. I think the hero was called Cole Micheals or Matthews but could be wrong, and heroine was Laurie but again can’t be sure. He was a singer and they were married but seperated. He gets Laurie to Thailand where OW is filming a music video. At the end he rescues her from really busy public transport I remember. That’s all of got but would love to re read it if anyone remembers it!
