Can't add a book to the Anticipating list?

Hello! I have a feeling this is a dumb question, but after some searching I can't find an answer, so figured I would ask:
I notice that some lists allow me to add books, but others do not.

In particular, https://www.librarything.com/list/42931/all/Anticipated-2021-Reads is missing the Add Book button. I am able to click "add to your list," next to each book on that list, which seems to create my own version of the list which I can order however I want -- but if I want to add a title I am eagerly anticipating that doesn't already appear on the list like Hell of a Book by Jason Mott (which doesn't seem to come up via touchstones but maybe I am just cursed today?!)

Anyway, can some kind soul tell me what I am missing? I'd understand if that Anticipating list is closed to my edits because it's someone's private list, but what doesn't make any sense to me is why I can't add additional books to my own private version of it. (Very possible that I just don't understand how Lists work on LT!)

Thanks!

If you look at "type" right beneath the list's title you'll notice it's preset, so only the list's creator can add works to it.

>1 claytonhowl: There are different settings for different lists. If you look at the top of that list it says "Preset list created by kara.shamy". The "preset" part means that the creator has selected which books can go on the list and other users can only vote them up or down.

Some other lists have different settings which allow any user to add books to the list.

I'd suggest making your own list of anticipated reads and letting anyone add books to it (or just you!)

Aha, so confusing, thank you for explaining this to me!! I really like the idea of a collaborative list with all LibraryThing users of the upcoming books we're looking forward to in 2021, and got stuck on the fact that I could vote but not add.

(Seems so odd to me still, UX-wise, but at least now I know to look for "pre-set," thanks again!)
