As I surmised, I 'm heavy on the UK...although this does contain 4 countries, all my reading has been, for the most part, in England.

You've encouraged me to get back in the race. I have some difficult countries remaining to be filled.

Greece (another one!): The Theban Plays. As always, great reads by Sophocles.

England (again!) Charlotte Sometimes Time travel and boarding schools, what not to love? Ages 10-14

England (again!} Frost, Freezes, and Fairs by Ian Curry.

Italy-specifically Sicily The Kingdom of Sicily, 1100-1250: A Literary History Literature in translation.

France--(mostly) A King's Ransom by Sharon Penman took place primarily in France (Normandy, Toulouse, and Rouen).

UK-Scotland Waverley by Sir Walter Scott. And ok book about the Jacobite rising, just ok!

UK-England The Peppermint Pig

Italy The History of Rome: The Republic Volume 1 by Mike Duncan a good overview of the history of Rome from its settlement through the crumbling Republic. A compilation of the author's podcasts on the same subject. 371 pages 4.5 stars

France Madame Tussaud by Michelle Moran great read! 465 pages 4.5 stars

Scotland-Guy Mannering, another Scott novel, meh.

England- The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

England-The Village School by Miss Read. A superb read!

England-Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen, 327 pages 4 stars.
