Hello! I'm looking for the name of an author who wrote exclusively YA sci-fi books. The one book he wrote I remember had a young girl protagonist who found these small scorpion-like aliens in her basement. She and her friend began working with them and in exchange, they were able to bend time like move faster than everybody else. However, a big government guy starts finding out about the aliens and wants to take them away. I remember it having a pretty creepy ending with the aliens turning out to be evil. That last part I could be wrong on though. It was written in the early 90's I believe. Let me know if you need more details!
