There's a Law Enforcement Bulldog Who Is Now the USAG

Bring cases. Bring them quick. Bring them heavy. FBI field offices STILL working at frenzied level to identify, arrest, charge, and build cases that show weighty jail terms upon conviction. And real American patriots are still falling all over themselves to turn the bad guys in to authorities.

Announcing expected 500 perps to be charged soon is just the tip of the iceberg. DOJ-watchers see a strategy emerging from Merrick Garland's leadership to tie leaders of Proud Boys and Oath Keepers in a widespread conspiracy to overthrow the American government in the Capitol attack. An obvious desire to build BIG, SERIOUS, and JAILICIOUS cases against the terrorists is evolving into an explicit policy.

Conspiracy, RICO, and attempted violent overthrow of the government cases are being prepared against imprisoned terrorist group leaders from both major organizations. Because seditious ambition persists among leaders in those two (at least) terrorist groups, it is, in part, what has led and continues to lead Federal judges to deny bail to the leaders of those organizations. Additionally, the threatened weight of convictions that will result in significant incarceration is intended to evoke outright cooperation with authorities. Even more, flipping perps, anxious to find themselves on the right side of the law are talking. Suddenly.

Garland obviously wants to also see the BIGGEST Federal investigation in American history continue to evolve into a naked expose of the Republican politicos who aided, abetted, and allied with the attackers. Look for the FBI to lean on the arrestees to spill the dirt on the Hawleys, Johnsons, Cruzs, and MJTs who betrayed their oaths and betrayed their country.
Prosecutors have also filed conspiracy charges against members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. They are accused of playing a more central role in planning and leading the Capitol siege or encouraging others to join it.

One member of the Oath Keepers, Jon Schaffer of Indiana, has pleaded guilty to entering the Capitol while wearing a tactical vest and armed with bear spray. He has agreed to cooperate with investigators.
With today's announcement, the total number of participants charged with illegal violence for their fake patriotism approaches 1,000. Expect many more.

A man bragged about storming the Capitol on a dating app. Then his match reported him to the FBI. (CBS)

A man who told someone he matched with on a dating app that he stormed the U.S. Capitol was arrested by the FBI in New York on Thursday. According to court filings, an individual contacted the FBI on January 13, about a week after a violent mob stormed the Capitol, with information about someone who allegedly participated in the unlawful entry to the building. The person said Robert Chapman of Carmel, New York, had met on Bumble, a dating app, and during their text conversation stated: "I did storm the Capitol"...

Trump supporters could be incited to future violence by his continued promotion of 2020 election lies, DOJ and judges say (CNN)

Former President Donald Trump's continued promotion of the "big lie" about the 2020 election could still incite his followers to violence, the Justice Department and judges noted repeatedly this week, as courts weigh the future dangerousness of US Capitol riot defendants. Two federal judges this week brought up the disinformation about 2020 from right-wing figures, and even Trump himself, as they considered keeping alleged Capitol rioters in jail before trial. And prosecutors from the Justice Department are arguing more explicitly that violent threats stemming from Trump-backed conspiracy theories are still alive, and that Trump supporters could be called to act again...

Those associated with the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys are really up shit creek. Maybe even the handful of 3%er’s that were there too but OK’s and PB’s for sure. There’s close to at least 40 of them inside plus a crap load of them outside coordinating the assault even from far away. I expect a sweeping RICO conspiracy case in their cases and good riddance to bad trash.

Additionally much video of assaults on capitol police officers by the run of the mill people in Trump’s mob that those people are going to be slammed too on an individual basis and those who were stealing even if it were a pencil are targets. Some of these characters are going to serve significant time as well.

Personally I don’t what you do with the qballs or anti -vaccine idiots if it can’t be shown they stole anything or engaged in physical violence. Some time in psych wards might be more appropriate there.

Active Duty US Marine Corps Officer Arrested for Alleged Role in January 6 Insurrection

The U.S. Dept. of Justice has announced the arrest of a 40-year old active duty U.S. Marine, Major Christopher Warnagiris, a commissioned officer stationed at Quantico, for his alleged role in the January 6 insurrection.
Citing court documents and security camera footage, DOJ in a statement says Major Christopher Warnagiris "violently entered the Capitol on Jan. 6, after pushing through a line of police officers guarding the East Rotunda doors. Once inside, Warnagiris positioned himself in the corner of the doorway, using his body to keep the door open and pull others inside. When a U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) officer tried to pull the doors shut, Warnagiris refused and continued pushing it open. Warnagiris can be seen pushing the officer in an effort to maintain his position in the open door in security camera footage and publicly available video footage captured shortly after 2:25 p.m."

(He) "is charged with federal offenses that include assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers; obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder; and obstruction of justice, among other charges.

Christopher Warnagiris, aka #YellowZipSkulker, was arrested in Quantico, per his arrest warrant.

Here's the Twitter thread on YellowZipSkulker. As an active duty member of the military, Warnagiris is also subject to court martial under the military code of justice (UCMJ), which states: Article 94(a)(2) defines sedition, which is punishable "by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct."

I've heard Leavenworth is nice this time of year.

It would seem to me that Maj. Warnagiris has run afoul of both the FBI and the UCMJ. I don’t know what Leavenworth is like these days but it’s not exactly the best place for a picnic near the Mississippi.
