Please help me find this book!
1) I read it around middle school
2) It has a female protagonist
3) The plot involves a girl or young woman who gets lost at sea and winds up on a mysterious island where time doesn't exist and people don't use silverware.
4) Eventually she is found and returned to her family but the island seems to have disappeared, and she can't remember how to use forks anymore.
5) If I remember correctly it was either a middle grade or young adult book, and was most likely published before 2006.

Thank you so much!!

Probably not either of these:
Island in the Sea of Time
Child of a Hidden Sea

Tagmashes that might help:

GR has a long list of titles with "island" in the title:

Another GR list for titles in or near water:

There's also Wikipedia's list:

When you say lost at sea, do you mean shipwrecked or fallen of a boat or a fantastical means of ending up on the island?

Was the time slip theme the only fantasy element?

What was the island setting like? Hot, cold, muggy, etc whatever you can remember.

Thank you so much, I will look through all of these marvelous suggestions!!! The time slip theme and the fact that the island had disappeared after she was found were the only fantasy elements. She was either shipwrecked or fell out of the boat by normal means. I don't remember the island setting, but I do remember that one of the girls on the island was of age and was going to be courted in some way that was special to the people on the island, but the main character who was about the same age couldn't also be courted since she wasn't from the island. I hope that helps?

Some details I remembered that might help?

1) I think the weather on the Island was warm, most likely summer weather
2) Judging by the fact that the island inhabitants had such firm courting traditions, perhaps they were an indigenous tribe of some sort?
3) The main character's family was quite judgy about her not remembering how to use silverware, so her family might have been rich?

I know these aren't huge plot details, but I still thought they could help. Thank you! :)
