I was wondering if anyone has read and enjoyed this volume?

I have it. I enjoy the illustrations. Green is not my favorite folkloric/mythology writer in style. To me, he is not very engaging and somewhat dry in tone. If you like the way he writes then you will like it. There’s a paperback edition, from Puffin if you want to read it out ahead of time. I think it is pretty typical of his type of mythology/folklore though. The book itself is beautiful. Nice endpapers, illustrations, a map, a chronology of historical events at the end. The pictures look better in real life than they do on the FS site. The introduction/prologue give a bit of context and there are about 20 tales. It is printed on Abbey Wove in Germany. I like it, but I like mythology.
