Hello! This is where you can introduce yourself and read about your fellow YA readers. Feel free to post as much or as little as you want.

I'm Kali and I'm 28 years old! I live with my amazing husband and our 3 precious cats. I have Multiple Sclerosis and two fake hips, so I don't work. That means I have way too much time on my hands. 😂 My hobbies other than reading include playing Animal Crossing, watching too much Netflix, and listening to music. My two favorite genres are pop punk, alternative indie,, and indie folk.

When it comes to reading, my favorite genres are YA (obviously), mystery/thriller, and contemporary. I usually read one or two books a week. I'd like for it to be more but chronic pain and fatigue doesn't allow it.

I'm not the best at describing myself, but there you have it! I can't wait to meet everyone here.

I'm Mary Lou, and I'm 71. I recently moved from wide open rural Nebraska to metropolitan Omaha area to be closer to my grandchildren. Culture shock!! I'm enjoying my new digs, and adjusting to city life. I am slowing learning that just because I CAN go to Wal Mart every day, it doesn't mean that I MUST go to Wal Mart every day!

I retired after better than 30 years in the educational field. I taught a little English, a little Speech, coached the Speech Team (very small school, lots of hats) and - most importantly - was the k-12 media specialist...by any other name a school librarian. It was the best job ever.

My favorite genres are historical fiction, historical non-fiction, cozy mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, etc., etc.! I don't think I'll ever grow out of YA.

I'm Tim, 61 and still at work as a programmer (though recently reduced my hours to 4 days a week - this does give me more time, but I have not spent much of it reading so far). I live in Britain, near Manchester.

in YA I tend to mostly read fantasy and SF, mixed in in with similar stories aimed at older readers

I'm Lori, and I'm 40. I currently work at the public library in a rural town in Rolla MO. I'm the children's librarian, and I absolutely love it. I read story time to the younger kids, host a tween and teen book club, and also organizes and host the summer reading program every year. I'm also a junior at Drury University, finishing up my bachelor's degree in elementary education. I married my high school sweetheart. We've been together for 26 years now, and have 3 beautiful children..

Looking forward to meet everyone!

Hello! I'm Natalie, 29, living in Seattle with my fiancé and our three greyhounds. I work in marketing. When I'm not reading or listening to books while cooking or walking the dogs, I'm usually watching a period piece on Netflix, coordinating our latest house update, or, lately, trying in vain to plan a wedding during a pandemic. You can also find me on my Switch playing Breath of the Wild or Stardew Valley.

I read a lot of YA, as well as general fiction, fantasy and sci-fi, and some mystery, romance, and classics scattered in there. I'm always aiming for 100+ books per year and hit 150 for the first time ever last year (thanks, audiobooks!). Expecting that total to be lower this year what with the whole wedding planning thing :)

I'm Gemma. I live in the flat east of England and work as a technical writer for a software company. Right now, I'm in Covid lockdown and working from home, but in more 'normal' times I love flea-marketeering and going to the cinema. As well as bookshops, of course.

In YA I read mostly fantasy, SF and historical fiction, with some contemporary. Outside YA I tend to read period literature, history and poetry, as well as adult fiction in the same genres.

I need better ways to wrangle my book collection in a small house, and am currently working on a solution that involves morphing the walls into another dimension. Or something.

>6 konallis: Exactly! I’ve always pined for a multidimensional closet.

>6 konallis: >7 2wonderY: Something like the door in Howl's Moving Castle, except instead of opening up to different worlds or locations it just opens up to multiple closets :D

>7 2wonderY: >8 curioussquared: That would be brilliant. Why doesn't Elon Musk work on multidimensional libraries rather than travelling to Mars?

I need a TARDIS for my book storage!

I retired this past June after 41 years as a teacher. Most of those years were spent as a middle library media specialist. >2 MerryMary: You are right - it was the best career ever! I also taught English and math along the way, and managed the building technology. I loved doing a buddy-read with some of the kids - I always found what they had to say quite interesting.

I live on an acreage in east-central Iowa (US Midwest) with my husband, daughter, dogs, and cats. The grandchildren and their parents live close by.

Two of my favorite YA books are Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Schmidt and We Were Liars by E Lockhart. (I'll edit these and put in the touchstones when I switch from my phone to the laptop.)

Hello! I'm Nancy and I'm a hopeless and unabashed bibliophile. I read all the time - 100 books a year. Most of my very long career as a librarian has been in children's services.

I love YA books. I also read tons of historical fiction, mystery/suspense/thrillers, fantasy, science fiction and novels about different cultures or set in different countries.
Currently reading The Boat People by Sharon Bala, set in Sri Lanka and Vancouver, British Columbia.

I live in a suburban neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. I love the mountains, beaches, and mild climate of NC. Other interests are music, nature, travel, and postcrossing.com.

I have spent this last month in California with my little granddaughters, age 2 and 5, reading great piles of kids' books!

Hi! I see it's been a while, so I will try to help revive with a new post. I am 48 and an avid YA reader/writer. Mostly in fantasy, sci-fi, and romance. In fact, I have a book that is about to begin a giveaway on this site! Hierarchy of Blood I would love to have you join and if you win, to know what you think.

I am Associate Editor for a small publisher, so I read all the time, but not necessarily Top 5 work, and I'm always working when I read. I would love to have time to sit and read for pleasure, but when I'm not reading, I'm writing. Lol. Or marketing!

I also battle with chronic pain and fatigue, so I'm stuck in my chair all day, but I am mostly happy. I would love to find new friends and new readers.
